After-school Program
Believe to Achieve’s children and youth after school program and day camp and March break program, provides children and youth opportunities where they can build positive experiences, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, develop confidence and skills for life.
After school programs can also help to reduce the risk of negative behaviors, such as drug use or criminal activity, and can provide a sense of belonging and support for children who may not have access to these resources at home.
After school programs can play a vital role in helping young people to reach their full potential and lead successful, fulfilling lives.
Our program assists children and youth in high elevated risk factor neighbourhoods, in further nurturing their confidence, provide opportunities to develop and practice leadership skills and empower them to support and influence their peers, as well as their community.
Our after school programs can be extremely beneficial for youth, as they provide a safe and structured environment for children to learn and grow. These programs can help students to develop new skills, build self-confidence, and form positive relationships with their peers and adults.
Some outcomes/impacts of this program are as follows:
Children and youth get to know and trust positive role models from within their own community who can help mentor them; and,
Youth take advantage of job opportunities to give back to their families and communities and stay on the right track (all of our after school staff are hired from our community and more times than not come from being members of our ASP).
Children and youth are physically active and engaged in sports within a safe environment aligned with Rowan’s Law.
Further integrating Active Learning into all our programs as children and youth explore their interests, develop their strengths, and realize positive outcomes in academics, physical activity, self-expression, healthy living, mental health and more.
